Straight talk
The brand behind this one stepped away before launch — their print-on-demand supplier fell through, not the build. It is shown with their blessing, running on seeded data instead of live stock. The Shopify version came afterwards, on my own time, to prove the design was not welded to a custom stack.
Overview
A Y2K streetwear label wanted a real store, not a theme with the colours swapped. So I built one from scratch, then built it a second time on Shopify to see whether the design survived a platform that fights back.

The challenge
Version one needed a checkout solid enough to take real money and a back office non-technical staff could run a business from. Version two had to hit the same bar on a templating language with no backend of its own, where accounts, checkout and fulfilment belong to Shopify and simply cannot be touched.
- 02
The approach
The custom build is Astro and React on Cloudflare’s edge: cart drawer, discount codes, Stripe checkout, order tracking that asks for an order number instead of an account, and an admin covering products, variants, customers, discounts and refunds. The Shopify port rewrites it section for section in Liquid — same self-hosted fonts, same compiled tokens, exposed as settings a merchant can edit. Where Shopify has no equivalent it adapts in the open rather than faking it: the wishlist runs locally, tracking goes through the native contact form.

The result
Two complete storefronts that look like the same brand and behave like it. One hand-built end to end, one installable as a theme and clean through Shopify’s own linter.
